We are are a music school with a full-service espresso bar. Our vision statement is "Not work, not home but some beautiful place inbetween where strangers become friends over a great cup of coffee and the diligent make amazing discoveries as they learn." Our aim is to provide a creative, engaging and relational environment where budding musicians can learn and make connections. Enjoy your visit!

Eric Foster-Whiddon  guitar / band

Eric is a husband, father of four and the owner of Beans & Strings. He has been playing guitar for sixteen years and has been teaching guitar, bass and drums since 2001. Eric writes and performs his original music and has been in several bands, including Joshua Generation, Widow June, Pedestrian, Veterans Radio, EFW & The Summer Associate, Good Boy Elvis, Blue is a Sound and currently Best Cassette. 



Mary Folsom  guitar

Mary is the assistant manager at Beans & Strings and handles all lesson scheduling and new student orientation.  Mary has been playing guitar for 14 years and has been teaching lessons since 2006.  Mary's vocal and guitar skills have been featured on several worship albums.



Groover Spivey  guitar / bass / digital recording / band

Groover has been playing guitar for 27 years and has become adept at bass and synthesizer in the past two years.  He has been teaching music for four years.  He has played in several bands including Blue is a Sound and the Mark Brown Band and is currently involved in Best Cassette and is the lone artist in Freelance Astronaut Project.






Brian McMillan  guitar / classical guitar

Brian is awesome.  He plays classical guitar and is pursuing a guitar degree at Valdosta State University.  He has played in several bands including J.A.R. and Elijah Ride and currently plays in Thrive Band.



Brandon Whitaker  piano / guitar

Brandon began playing piano at the age of 5 and picked up the guitar and bass at 18.  He has been teaching music for five years.  He performed sideline percussion and sax with the CCHS 50th Regiment Band and piano with the CCHS Jazz Band.  He is currently involved with Crossing 47, a Christian rock worship band, and serves as a worship leader with the Temple Baptist Church worship band.






Angelie Alderman  violin / mandolin

Angelie is an avid singer/songwriter who has been singing since she was 5 years old.  She played her first song by ear at age 7 after hearing it on the radio. At 9 years old she wrote and accompanied her first song. She plays an array of instruments including piano, violin, mandolin, guitar, harmonica, and drums.
